Kids Making a Big Difference

You're Never Too Young to Make a Difference

Kids under 16 may be too young to volunteer on-site but they can still help save lives in big ways, from home, school, or with friends.

Host a Donation Drive

Rally your classmates, scout troop, or neighborhood to collect supplies. It’s an easy way to support our shelter pets.                Reach out to education@ffhumane.org to get started.

Kennel Break Chronicles

What Is a “Kennel Break”? Every rescue animal deserves a voice—and a  weekend getaway! As a Shelter Paws Advocate, you’ll host a plush animal companion complete with a custom backpack and adventure journal. Your mission: take your plush buddy on outings, and share their story through photos, art, and writing.

Get Creative & Make Enrichment

Get creative, give back, and earn service hours along the way! Paws & Create offers flexible, at-home projects that make a real difference for the animals and people at Furry Friends.

Choose from projects like Enrichment Packets, where you’ll create toys and activities for shelter pets, or Kindness Rock Garden Packets, where you’ll paint uplifting rocks to brighten our shelter.

Community Service Credit:
Completed projects are eligible for verified community service hours. Simply complete your project, drop it off at Furry Friends, and bring the included hour log for sign-off.

Spread the Word From Home

Get creative and help promote our adoptable pets by making eye-catching adoption posters or informative flyers. You can also film a heartwarming video of yourself reading to your pet or a stuffed animal. Your efforts will help raise awareness and find loving homes for our furry friends.

Start Something & Launch a Club

Bring Animal Rescue to Your School
Start a Furry Friends club at your school! You’ll inspire classmates, lead projects, and raise awareness about animal welfare. We’ll provide lesson plans, you bring the passion. Find a teacher sponsor and a few animal-loving friends, and we’ll help you take it from there. Get started by email education@ffhumane.org.

Foster

Open Your Home and Earn Hours
Fostering gives animals a break from the shelter and helps them prepare for adoption. You’ll earn 4 hours of community service for each day you foster.

Earn Service Hours with Us

Get Credit for Your Compassion

Many of our volunteer projects are eligible for school or community service hours. Before you begin, make sure to email us at education@ffhumane.org to confirm your project and ensure your hours are counted. Your efforts not only help animals but also contribute to your personal growth and achievements.
